Our juniors are our future.
There is nothing like watching that moment when your child “gets it,” and starts smiling. Being able to teach the next generation of Martial Artists is our goal and our passion.
Each class in our Juniors Program is dedicated to developing your child’s coordination and confidence in a safe and clean space. With over 50 years of experience, the instructors at Shore Kickboxing know exactly how to help and keep your child focused so they can become the great adults we know then can be.
We believe just because a class is over doesn’t mean their journey as a Martial Artist stops. For years the instructors have helped out the juniors in school by making sure their homework is done, getting copies of their report cards and assisting them on becoming respectful people in the community.
Meet the Shore Kickboxing Team
Sensei Paul has been active in martial arts for over 24 years. Paul began studying karate in 1993. During his first 12 years of study, Paul trained in Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Arnis, Grappling and Kenpo. After earning his 1st Degree Black Belt at the age of 11, Paul followed with his 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2001. Upon graduating from Brick Township High School, Paul studied Mathematics and Education at Centenary University. During his tenure at the university, the Dean of Students gave Paul the opportunity to teach several self-defense seminars. This lead to the start of a successful cardio kickboxing program for students through the University’s Intramural Department. After graduating Centenary University in 2009, Paul returned to his study of martial arts reuniting with his mentor, Master Mike Rifkin. Under Master Mike’s leadership, Paul became proficient in American Kickboxing, Thai Kickboxing and Kali Stick Fighting. Paul then furthered his experience in martial arts instruction at Performance Martial Arts while teaching junior’s karate, adult self-defense, adult Kickboxing/MMA and cardio kickboxing before earning his 3rd Degree Black Belt in 2013.
Sensei Tim is a 3rd Degree Black Belt who has been training in martial arts for well over 20 years. Beginning his journey in the early 1990’s, Tim studied a mixed style of martial arts, including Traditional Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Arnis, Grappling and Kenpo. Tim continued to evolve as a martial artist by training in American Kickboxing, Thai Kickboxing and Kali stick fighting while under the instruction of Master Mike Rifkin. During the years that followed, Tim worked and managed a two time “Best of the Best Ocean County: Martial Arts School” overseeing numerous physical transformations and several successful black belt tests. Tim now brings his years of management, teaching skills and enthusiasm to Shore Kickboxing. Tim’s thirst for knowledge continued outside of martial arts at William Paterson University where he attained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.
Ms. Jen is a 1st Degree Black Belt who has been training for ten years in American Kickboxing. Jen began her training in cardio kickboxing classes, but she soon realized that her passion for the sport was growing. Jen dedicated herself to her craft and quickly rose through the martial arts ranks under the instruction of Master Mike Rifkin. As Jen achieved higher belt ranks, she was given the opportunity to fill in as an instructor for the adult kickboxing classes. This opportunity then developed into an Assistant Instructor position where Jen worked closely with a junior kickboxing program. Off the mats, Jen has an extensive and varied business background having worked in promotions and marketing for a local media group, raised millions of dollars for local charities, and worked in operations management in the local martial arts community. Jen holds a Bachelor of Music in Sound Recording Technology from Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Business Administration from Monmouth University.
